Kitchen Chronicles: Perfect Pancakes (Almost!)

Did you know how lame I was before when I first worked on my pancake from a scratch recipe? Don't feel pity for me everyone. After several trial and error, I guess I finally mastered the recipe. *wink* It actually isn't the recipe's fault why my pancake happened to be so ugly like in the left photo below. I may not used a great pan and I've messed with the technique.

See the right photo above? Well I guess that's better. :) How did I came up with that pretty stacked goodies? Firstly, never mess up with the recipe, like ever. No substitutions and no skipping. And lastly, the technique I'm ranting a while ago.

Close up please ^_^

You'll need a nice non-stick pan (photo below) and better cook with love and care. :) I mix the batter with a wire whisk to avoid lumps or clogs. Then heat the pan in medium to low, just not to burn the other side of the pancake upon pouring. And oh, pouring the batter is the most crucial technique in this step. Eight to ten inches above the pan, I pour the batter cautiously so it will form a perfect round shape.

Bubbles appear after 3 minutes in my case, then I know it's time to flip it over with a turner/spatula. After another 2 minutes, it's done!

Place a piece of butter on top of stacked pancakes and drizzle with the syrup of your choice! That's it! Simple and perfect pancake I believe! :D Next time, I'll share with you guys the recipe of pancake from scratch I'm using for ages now. This one tastes like the commercial pancake mix sold at our grocery stores. You'll never tell until you try it for yourself! So stay tuned. Hehe.

Did you messed up with your first pancake too? How did you managed the same problem and came out with the better ones? Share it out at the comment section! :)

  4. Wow almost perfect but for me it seems perfect already! There's one thing I learned from this post, use a non stick pan. Haha, yung first pancake ko ang gulo ng sides although okay naman yung lasa niya hindi lang nga siya perfect circle. Thanks for sharing this!

Nothing quite like the perfect breakfast when you wake up at the right time in the morning, is it not? :)
