I am always a fan of theme parks. I guess, it is the child in me that will never fade. And I am blessed to have an awesome partner who will love the things I love! Going in a theme park doesn't mean you're a childish person. It just means that you enjoy what life has to offer.
This time, we went to a very peculiar theme park in The Netherlands. It is one of the most visited parks in Europe and as a Dutch, it is a place they are proud of! Since 1952, Efteling Theme Park has offered a variety of attractions and rides to western and eastern tourists. Though it only started as a water park, they managed to expand the property to a 72 ha (720,000 m2), resort hotel is not included.
As part of this post, here's the two parts of the vlogs that we posted. It is much easier to see it with your own eyes than to read my endless words. Enjoy watching! Thank you!
Hello boys and girls! Here I am once again, still alive and kicking! I am so sorry for a lot of MIA months, I've been through a lot of paperworks, I also had my job, and we made it to The Netherlands. Can you just imagine the toxic we've just faced? But good thing, everything now is in place. We were able to arrange our documents and register our wedding certificate in The Netherlands. I might make a separate blog post for the requirements and the procedure of that.
For now, we are still living in The Philippines. But if circumstances arise, we will not dilly dally and move to Europe. Of course, that is plan B.
Though plan B isn't as important as the plan A, it is still necessary to prepare. In this world full of chaos, you wouldn't want to be in awe when something strikes your life, right? So as for the preparation of the plan B, or living in Europe, I am already starting to learn the language. Although it is not as difficult as the other foreign languages with different characters, learning it will still be a challenge for me. I won't be exposed to Dutch speaking people while we are in The Philippines.
Thanks to my friends that they helped me choose the right preparatory material. It is a book to help me to get to know more about the Basic Civic Integration Examination. This is the examination which some people must take and pass in order to obtain a provisional residence permit (mvv) allowing them to live in the Netherlands.
Here is Naar Nederland workbook, which we purchased from https://www.bol.com/nl/ for €25 (all inclusive of CDs, DVDs, and photobook).
What's the fastest way to intergrate ones self to the culture? I think it s eating their traditional food while learning the language! If you want to know more about this book, visit their website at https://www.naarnederland.nl/en/
I also made a quick overview of what's inside the box. Enjoy watching! Doie!
Most of the people within Batangas are unaware about this hidden gem, located at Brgy. Cuta Batangas City. Here lies a shabby chic and Nordic inspired cafe that offers an array of Filipino food with a twist.
To be honest, me and GJ are yet to discover my own traditional food. I might be born and raised in the Philippines but food at home is somehow infused with different cuisine. My mom though is a very good cook when it comes to Filipino viands, but me, a total disaster in that term. I most enjoy preparing more complex meals than what I should have first learned myself, Pinoy food.
Enough said, let me introduce you this cafe’s premium offerings and why I like them.
Let’s start with their pastas. First off, here's a Filipino style of Spaghetti and Meatballs. Lolo's Place's Cheesy Pinoy Style Spaghetti Meatballs (₱150) uses no ordinary cheese. They leveled up with Parmesan on top, still keeping the taste according to Pinoy's liking.
This is Spicy Garlic Shrimp pasta (₱150). Shrimp is not my best friend but I do recommend you to try it too!
Another fusion cuisine was this Sisig Pasta (₱150). If you're tired of having kanin (rice) all the time, this is a good alternative. Who would have thought that this Pinoy viand will go a long way with a Western style? Another dish worth trying.
Last but definitely not the least was my favorite! (Or everyone's favorite!) Here's Lolo's Place Batangas' Caldereta Pasta (₱150). Who would say no to Caldereta?
Their meals does not stop there. They also serve sandwiches for those who want light meals. Here's their Ham and Cheese (Excellente) (₱160).
As for GJ, Sizzling Sisig (₱85) is something he needs to try. Appreciation smile from my husband who loves this food (He's so happy! I can tell!)! They were generous enough to have a serving of this dish!
Though not part of the menu, their Enseymada is a secret dish for those looking for small meryenda (snack). It is how an enseymada should be, soft, fluffy, cheesy and buttery!
Let's head now for dessert, shall we?
Even before I had my first step at Lolo's Place Batangas, this dish was well told of. Yes, it is their best seller Halohalo (₱85). Unlike any other halohalo in town, theirs comes with a very creamy ice slush topped with corn flakes. Just do not misinterpret its weight, for it might be as heavy as a meal but it is definitely a confection. Another dish to be on your "Must Try" list!
It was a pleasure to be invited and served with my writer buddies at Lolo's Place Batangas. It is a one stop cafe for good people, good food, great times.
Another restaurant that millennials will definitely love! Fried Chicken Master PH opened their very first branch in the Philippines last Friday, September 28, 2018.

Why in Batangas City?
Mr. Chen, FCM owner, believed that the city is fast growing and soon will experience a rapid economic growth. They are also expanding the store to have another branches in Lipa, Manila, etc. It is nice to cater and introduce new Asian inspired menu to people who are hungry of development and maturation, which happened to be, Batangas, according to survey.
For beverage, they serve milk teas like Cassia Tea (also known as semen cassia, come from the cassia plant which is a famous Chinese herb. Those seeds are dried and used to make a delicious tea that has a sweet and bitter flavor. source: www.airytea.com), Wintermelon Tea (tea from a type of gourd that originated in Southeast Asia), and Master Milk Tea to complement a complete meal.
Steamed rice served with sauteed scallions
They made sure to serve only the best by using the most tender and succulent part of the chicken with the proprietary marinade, making their chicken crunchy and tasty.
Karate Chop
My husband and I agreed that they serve palatable dishes and it is the Pepper & Salt Jimbo, which is our best favourite. It is flavorfully spicy, not too salty, until the last bite. I was never a fan of spicy food but this one is definitely an exemption.
Pepper & Salt Jimbo
They also offer variety of snacks, like Golden Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, Onion Rings and Spaghetti.
Fried Chicken Master is also reasonably priced, with value meals ranging from Php99 up to Php199.

If you aren't aware, I just got married few months back and I am very convince that the perfect way to save up while in a drastic event spending is to make a plan. Our wedding wasn't that big. We only had a hundred people to celebrate with us after the ceremony. And we were happy that we kept it that way. Here's a little secret, my dad's family counts as 16 siblings, not included their spouses and kids. So to have a really small gathering despite the huge amount of relatives, here's the ten money saving tips you can do to help you frugally have the dream wedding of your life.
10. Plan Ahead
Since the engagement day, you have all the time to talk about the wedding you want to have. Talk about almost every single thing possible, from paperwork to the smallest details after the wedding day. That will help you save not only money, but also time and energy.
9. Have a checklist
To be on track with your planning, you need to have a checklist. There are tons of wedding checklist you can find online and they seems all to fit your needs. But be very mindful in choosing one. Not all weddings are the same. It also matter which country you are living, or what type of wedding will you have.
8. Choose A Decent Wedding Dress
It is not in trend today having a glamorous dress on their big day. Have you heard or seen of Meghan Markle's dress when she said I do to the Prince Harry of London?
Source: www.telegraph.co.uk | CREDIT: JANE BARLOW/PA
If you haven't, you might want to look at the photo on top.
Our big day happened the day before Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding day. And you know what? Somehow, our dresses seems to fit in the trend. Simple but elegant.
So this is me, in my wedding dress, a photo taken before we head to the ceremony hall. I am very proud of how my dress turned out. The tailor that we picked made it really nice and fitted me perfectly. It is 95% satin and 5% lace (for the sleeves). A lot actually commended me on having such a decent and fab dress. In the Philippines, brides use to have a stunning and shinning shimmering design. But trends are changing, so as the needs of each and every bride.
So even though your wedding is still 2 years from now, you should plan ahead which style would you want. To help you with, I've discovered these wedding dresses and bridal gowns from PromShopau and you might want to consider them as well.
7. Consider Having The Same Hall for the Ceremony and the Reception (if there's any)
If you prefer to have an outdoor reception, then it is always better to have the ceremony at the same place as well. This will not only save you money, but also a lot of time when travelling here and there. The visitors will also be very happy to learn that they don't need even to move a muscle to get to the party hall.
6. Choose to DIY your Invitations, Souvenirs and Guestbook
All of our invitations and wedding favors were handmade. Although it took us more time to finish everything, we find that they're all worth it. They were as how we planned it, plus, it also gave us time to spend and be closer to each other.
5. Compare Prices
In all of the items that you will buy for the big day, make sure that you have looked for other suppliers and checked for the price. You can also haggle a bit, if they allow. Why not?
4. Get Your Coordinator and Host From Your Family and Friends
If you will have a wedding coordinator, or MC on the feast hall, you might want to get a non-paid person. Why not have a close friend or a family for these duties? They'll not say no to you for sure, otherwise, you're a less likable person.
3. Be Strict to Your Invites
A lot of weddings now consider RSVP's. And that is when they only have a limited number of invites for the reception. Let's be honest, even thought we want to feed everyone, we are all conscious still on how much we will spend for this. It is somehow one of the biggest expense you'll have on a wedding. So if you say that a family will only have two seats reserved, you need to be firm and there's no negotiating.
2. Learn How To Borrow
There will always be newly weds within your circle of friends. You don't need to be haughty and shoulder all the spending. If there are things you can borrow, you should take your chances and do not hesitate to ask for more. They will not mind for sure.
1. Be Realistic
After laying out your plan and making some comparison, you should make sure that you are sticking on it but still realistic. There might some things that will not go with how you planned it, but if cases arise, be reasonable. You never want to waste you time unknotting an impossible knotted thread.
So, there you are. I hope that you find this post helpful. If you want to know some of the suppliers that we used for our big day, or there is something that you want to borrow from our wedding, don't hesitate to give me a ding! Have a great day! And may your wedding day be as pleasant and successful as how you planned it!
Again, don't forget to visit PromShopau for more fashionable dresses at the best prices to save more for your wedding!

Hey guys! It's been some time. Again! Sorry for always being MIA. Life's always has been busy, and I think it will stay the same for quite some time. Anyhow, I am happy I can still drop by to blog from time to time.
On today's post. I want to share with you the recipe I am using for making crepe. Since my husband has lived in France for almost a decade, he must have missed Parisian food. And even if he did not, it's okay, I love cooking.
So without any dilly dallying, here's the basic recipe I am using.
You'll be needing:
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/8 cup melted butter
1 1/2 tbsp white sugar
1 1/2 cups of milk
vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Basically, I just combine all the dry ingredients in one bowl and set it aside. And in another bowl, I combine the wet ingredients and mix them thoroughly. Then, I pour out the wet to dry little by little while whisking it with a wire whisk to prevent any lumps. Some use a sieve and strain them before cooking. I also like resting the batter for a little while before using it. I think, an over night rest is the best. Serves 2.
I always use a quarter cup to pour the batter to the greased non-stick pan.
There's no trick in this recipe. It just need your patience since it is a little bit of a time consuming dish. (At least that's how I feel.) Hahaha.
So yep. Have your crepe batter today and cook them tomorrow. Then, don't forget to update me how it turned out! Play with the filling. They're endless. Adios!
