Simple and Basic Cake Pop Recipe and Tutorial

Hi guys! Regardless with the title, thanks everyone for greeting me on my last post (Yvancka Registre, Bee, Fiffy Fajrina, blackshirt13, Shekina, michymichymoo, Sabrina, Mimi, Wrey Swift, Leeh Saberon, krizzle, fiel-kun, Beauty, Steph-G and Karen Corpuz), so for the real graduation photos, here's a collage of some snaps I got from Tuesday. Yeah!

For today, I'm going to teach you how to make cake pops, just like this one! Perfect for parties and get together! It's not that complicated like some sweet treats are, but they're still yummy, cute and simply adorable!

LET'S GET STARTED!

You'll need:

  • Chocolate Brownie/Cake/Fudge
  • All purpose cream (chilled)
  • Easy-melt chocolate buttons/chocolate bars/ bittersweet chocolate
  • Food coloring gel
  • Barbeque sticks/ scewers
  • Parchment paper/ Baking paper
  • Styrofoam stand or Half of cabbage/ cucumber/ watermelon etc.

Precedures:

1. Place your chocolate cake (mine was almond chocolate cake) into a mixing bowl, crumble until fine. Opps! Do not over do it. We want our cake to be crumbly, not super fine, just right.

2. Add in cream 1 tablespoon at a time until cake is moist and can hold a round shape, yet still slightly crumbly.

3. Lay your parchment paper on a flat surface, start creating balls or any shape you want, not too small yet not too big.

Chill for about 10-15 minutes. But it doesn't matter how long you keep it on the fridge, it's actually up to you.

4. Let's now work on our chocolates. In a double broiler (you can use a mixing bowl over a casserole half filled with water), melt your buttons but don't burn them. Temper for about 2 minutes.

5. Dip the tip of the bbq sticks into melted chocolate and insert into the cake balls. This acts as a glue for the pops. After everything's done, place them back into the fridge to set (5 mins) and prepare your decorating  supplies.

6. Get your balls, dip into chocolate gently, don't stir around or it will fall. Swirl and tap your hand that holds the pop until all the excess chocolate drips off. Place them into your stand, I'm using halves of cucumber cause they're the only available stuffs I have, and decorate as you like.

Chill again for the last time to speed up setting time.

Wrap your pops with plastic and tie them with cute ribbons and you're DONE! ^_^

Easy right? Happy Popping everyone!
