Chewy Matcha Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Hallo allemaal! Well, that's just basically, Hello everyone! but in Dutch.

Don't worry, I am not going to talk about my Dutch fiance, or my food trip to Vietnam, uhhm, partially still. As most of my post recently tackles so much about these things, today's post is a recipe post, obviously stated in the title.

When I visited Vietnam, I've learned that they use a lot of matcha on their dishes like cakes, bread, and yogurt. It is so common that I splurged my heart out every single day with matcha products. Also, I was able to try and test a recipe when I was there.

So now, I'll be sharing with you this Matcha Green Tea Cookie with Chocolate Chips recipe.

You'll be needing:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
2 teaspoon pure matcha powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Optional:
Melted chocolate
Almond nuts

Procedure:
First off, preheat your oven to 170 to 200 C.

As most cookies are made, you need to mix your room temperature butter, sugar, and egg until mixture is well blended. In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients.

Little by little, incorporate dry into the wet ingredients, giving it a good whisk.

Once done, scoop it into a lined pan and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. For what I did, I baked the first batch for like 15 minutes and the second for 12 minutes and it actually did not do any difference. But I still suggest making it 12 minutes at least.

Let your cookies cool and add decorations like what I did if you like. For this, melt milk chocolate in a double boiler and chop some plain roasted nuts. Dip each cookie halfway and immediately sprinkle shaved/chopped nuts. And you're done!

Disclaimer: I find that the recipe calls not much sugar so the chocolate chip compensated the sweetness, plus, the melted chocolate with the nuts seems to taste perfectly balance as well. Still, it depends on you.

Easy ha! Why not try it for yourself and share with me how it came out? I'd love to hear from you! :)
